Neil Turner is an ex-sheep and wheat farmer from country WA turned wood wizard. We first met Neil last year at the Perth Up Market and were mesmerized by his gorgeous gorgeous wooden spoons. Wooden spoons you ask?? Mesmerized by wooden spoons...that doesn't quite sound right. Seriously gang, these were captivating spoons, in all different sizes and shapes and divine timber-y hues. We had a lovely chat with Neil and his daughter Sigourney, who was helping out at the Up Market, and we knew that we had to include a wooden spoon somehow in our gift box range...(which we did!...

We want to talk about coffee. We love to talk about coffee. Nearly us much as we love to drink it. We aren't coffee geeks, we don't have a burr grinder at home but we do have a posse of baristas around town who know us well. When we started our business, it was no-brainer to have a gift box that focused on coffee. Because we know we aren't the only ones who love it, right? The thing that made us a little nervous though, was the supply-chain for the coffee beans. Because it didn't really make sense to us...

The first Clean Slate product we experienced was the Lavender and May Chang Foaming Liquid Soap. OMG, it was love at first smell! Never before had we smelt anything so citrusy and fresh and uplifting. We'd never heard of May Chang either at that point (turns out it's a tree that is native to South-East Asia...it's widely used in Chinese medicine, as well as understandably in the perfume/aromatherapy/skincare industries). After this introduction to Clean Slate products, really we just fell more and more in love. Kat is the dynamo behind the products and the brand, and she's been in the industry...
